Certified Auto Recycler Level 1

Welcome to the EVfriendly certified auto recycler training course. This program is made possible through the financial assistance and support of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Initiatives Go Electric campaign. If you have any questions or require assistance on how to complete this course, please contact evfriendly@ara.bc.ca.

This Level 1 course is for required for management, parts persons, delivery drivers, shipping and receiving and inventory management personnel, and dismantlers.
The EVfriendly Certified Recycler Level 2 course is required for receivers, dismantlers, inventory specialists and anyone performing battery tests.
It is recommended for all other employees.

This course consists of three modules, with each module divided into lessons covering a specific topic. Lesson material is a mix of text, images, and videos. You must watch the videos and take notes, as some of the information in the videos is not duplicated elsewhere.

At the end of each module, you will be asked to complete a short quiz. You must complete this quiz by answering all questions correctly. Once you complete the quiz, you will be allowed to proceed to the next module.

The system tracks your progress. Should you need to leave, you can log back in later and pick up where you left off.

At the end of the course, you will be assessed on what you have learned with a final exam. Once you have completed the final assessment you can download your certificate of completion. Your employer will then be responsible for conducting a final practical assessment. It is important that you save your certificate and provide a copy to your employer for training verification in case of an audit. Your employer must also keep a record of your practical assessment and may be asked at any time for a copy.

Re-certification is required every three years. As electric vehicle technology evolves, we will be upgrading our courses. You and your employer will receive a reminder about when and how to upgrade your training.
