Review of Lesson 1.6

Procedures:

1. Cut out or unbolt catalytic converter, pre-catalytic converter and exhaust system.
2. Place in the appropriate bin.

Quality Control:

1. Location of the catalytic converters will vary with vehicles as will the type of removal tool required.
2. The flanges should not be twisted or damaged.
3. Specialty tools: reciprocating saw, torch-grinder, cat-cutters.

Health & Safety:

1. Have an ABC extinguisher nearby.
2. Ensure compliance with all other health and safety regulations.
3. Standard Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) applies.
