Warranting the Part

Recycled body parts for vehicles 10 years or newer carry a lifetime warranty against premature rust perforation as compared to the rest of the vehicle. Warranty is for the original owner of the vehicle at the time of the repair against installation of the recycled parts.

Steering Knuckles: Warranty is no longer effective after the steering knuckles and control arm are installed and a wheel alignment and road test have been completed.

Heated rear glass: No warranty. The installer must perform a second check to ensure proper operation of the heating elements prior to installation.

All other recycled parts: Warranty for a period of 183 days (six months) from the date of purchase, or 10,000kms of use, whichever comes first.

Recycled part supplier will replace the part plus ADXE flat rate compensation for labour to replace, within one business day of being notified when a failure occurs to a part within the applicable warranty period.

If mechanical parts are drained of all fluids by the recycled parts supplier (as in the standards) prior to shipping, then the warranty will be applicable if the fluids are correctly refilled by the repair facility.

If major mechanical parts are installed by a mechanical trades qualified technician, then the warranty is applicable and will be valid form the date of installation. If mechanical parts are not installed by a mechanical trades qualified technician, then the warranty is not applicable.

If recycled part(s) or the recycled parts supplier is not available through the RPL, then the warranty is not applicable and must be provided by the repair facility.

If the repair facility uses a part that does not have a source vehicle identification number (VIN) on the sales invoice, then the part is not eligible for warranty and warranty must be provided by the repair facility.

Warranty Limitation

Recycled parts suppliers are not responsible for the failure of the part during the warranty period due to:

  • Improper installation
  • Accident
  • Misuses
  • Abuse, or
  • Improper maintenance

When failure occurs to moving mechanical or moving electrical components, steering and suspension components (other than wheel bearings and seals), radiators, air condition, and computerized components within the applicable warranty period of six months/ 10,000kms the recycled parts suppliers must:

  • Replace the part plus ADXE flat rate compensation for labour to replace, or
  • Refund the purchase price of that part to the repair facility that installed the part, including freight costs plus ADXE fat rate compensation for labour to replace

The repair facility must advise the recycler of what is required before proceeding with repairs when failure is due to a faulty recycled part.
